The Lecture well be held hosted by Library asfollows.

An illustrator’sjob is to give shape to dreams, feelings and stories and visualize them.

To do this,the illustrator must not only consider the characteristics of times and peoplesbehind a story, but must also have ability to understand fantasy deeply.

I wouldlike to give an illustrated lecture about my artistic principle of “TheStrength to Dream” using Andersen’s “TheLittle Mermaid”, as examples of famous mermaid stories from the East andthe West. (Ms. Moe Nagata)

Moe Nagata

She wasborn in Hyogo, currently lives in Kyoto, Japan.

Moe’s worksof “a World of Flower and Fairies” are drawn using mainly color inks, alongwith acrylic paint, and dyes. Her distinctive style of painting is recognizedfor its colorfulness , with soft and fine touch which gives dreamy and peacefulimpression.

She hassince then illustrated more than 150 books and worked on various commercialarts.

To date,she has held solo exhibition in Denmark, France, Taiwan, and many more inJapan.

In 1987,she was awarded the Graphic Prize at Bologna Children’s book Fair.
